KM SHOWCASE/4K FAIR HIGHLIGHTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNERS OF ALL AGES!!! About 150 families signed up to attend the KM Showcase and 4K Fair. The 4K-12 event brought families together from throughout the region for an evening centered on exploration, connection, and opportunity. With attendance surpassing previous years, the event provided a welcoming environment for those considering educational options for their children. Guests met directly with teachers, administrators, and students while touring our high school and learning about academic programs, extracurricular activities, and support services. One family described the experience as “So beyond what we expected when we signed up. We were able to register both of our children and sign them up for a bunch of clubs and sports teams. The tour was amazing.… We are blown away.” Others discovered options they hadn’t previously considered. A homeschool parent shared, “I did not realize our daughter could be taking advantage of partial attendance or even virtual enrollment. This opens up so many options for us as a family and also for her socially.” For families just beginning their school journey, the event offered reassurance and excitement. One 4K parent said they were “grateful for the child care area and enjoyed meeting teachers and learning about the different 4K programs.” They enrolled in our Forest 4K program and left feeling confident about the year ahead knowing that wrap care and transportation would be available. Hands-on STEM displays, vibrant arts programs, and conversations with students helped bring learning to life. One parent whose son had just applied to KM Global was excited to learn he can schedule courses in all of our high schools. Their son “is very interested in business and marketing, but is also creative and was interested in some of the offerings through Perform. That flexibility will allow him to pursue both and makes our choice much easier." As the evening concluded, families left not only with information, but with a sense of belonging. We wish to extend a special thank you to Culver’s for providing boxed meals; our early childhood team for facilitating the child care area; and to the many staff, students, and community members whose dedication made the showcase such a meaningful success.

THE SHOWCASE, OUR LARGEST 4K-12 ENROLLMENT FAIR & COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE EVENT, IS OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS/NON-RESIDENTS ON FEBRUARY 18TH FROM 5:30-7PM @ KMHS. Culver's will be offering pre-orders for: single cheeseburger ($5), chicken tender ($5), or crispy chicken sandwich ($6) boxed meals with fries! They will also be pre-ordering custard dishes ($2) and providing sprinkles, Oreos and M&M's. Culver's will serve the meals and provide a variety of condiments and toppings. DECA COMPETITION!!! KM DECA competed at the district level competition Saturday and Emily Garvin shared their experience: At the event, students participated in role-play scenarios, using creativity and problem-solving skills to develop and present a solution to judges. To qualify for the state competition, individuals or partnership must place in the top three of their event, based on a composite score that combines role play performance and test scores. The KM DECA chapter walked away with success, with six individuals and three partnerships advancing to the next level. Several other individuals and partnerships also earned medals for achieving high scores on their role play or exam. Our students gained real-world skills such as communication and professionalism in a business environment. Overall, the competition was a fun and rewarding experience.

KM HIGH SCHOOLS EARN AP PACESETTER AWARD: HS^2, KM Global, Kettle Moraine High School and KM Perform all earned Advanced Placement Pacesetter Awards for the 2024 school year. The award is presented by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Advanced Placement Advisory Council, recognizing level of AP participation and creating a culture of excellence. HS^2 and Global both had 30% or more of all students participate in at least one AP exam and 70% or more of those students earn scores of 3 or above on the exams. KMHS and Perform had 10% or more of all students participate in at least one AP exam and 60% or more of those students earn scores of 3 or above on the exams. HS ^2 was also one of ONLY TWO schools in the state to earn a Platinum Tier in 2024 AP School Honor Roll awards, while KM Global and Kettle Moraine High School earned Bronze Tier Awards. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. KM GLOBAL CPR TRAINING!!! Students in the Term 2 Personal Health and Fitness seminar participated in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training and certification, in partnership with the Kettle Moraine School District and the American Red Cross. This certification is a valuable life skill that provides students with the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency. The training consisted of an online component followed by an in-person hands-on skills practice session. The online coursework and hands-on skills practice lead to an official American Red Cross certification.

DPI REPORT CARD HIGHLIGHTS!!! The High School of Health Science (HS^2) is the TOP HIGH SCHOOL in the state per DPI report cards! The Kettle Moraine School District is 15th among all K-12 districts in the state. The district's scores in ELA and math are the highest in seven years. "We will continue to improve and focus on both student growth and achievement with aligned curriculum and quality instruction," said KMSD Superintendent, Dr. Stephen Plum. Other highlights include Wales and Cushing Elementary significantly exceeding expectations with Wales earning an impressive 93.9 overall score. HS^2 and Wales showed 100 point growth in ELA, with Wales also earning 100pt growth in math and HS^2 earning 100pt achievement in ELA and MATH. KM Global also significantly exceeded expectations, as did KMMS with an 89.1 overall score and a 96.8 in math. Dr. Plum and Ms. Kopidlansky shared an informative presentation on how to navigate the AP system, manage coursework, and maximize the benefits, both academically and financially, from this valuable program. Many parents stayed to talk with staff, ask questions, and gain additional insights afterward.
